- An investment of 200 million Moroccan dirhams.
- 600 million bottles recycled per year.
- More than 100 direct jobs and 1000 indirect jobs.
DOLIDOL, the pan-African leader in the polyurethane foam and bedding sector, officially launched its subsidiary, DOLICEN, specialized in the production of recycled PET products and discontinuous polyester fibers, on June 16, 2023, in Dar Bouazza. The launch event was attended by Mr. Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Commerce. With an investment of 200 million DH, including 100 million DH signed within the framework of the investment agreement of the project bank carried by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the new factory was established in the DOLIDOL industrial complex in Dar Bouazza, covering an area of 10,000 m², and has created more than 100 direct jobs and 1000 indirect jobs at this stage. Mr. Ryad Mezzour stated: "This project marks an important milestone in our journey towards sustainability and decarbonization of the textile sector. It demonstrates our commitment to promoting circular industry and ensuring sustainable production in compliance with current environmental standards." He added that through this investment, DOLICEN contributes to structuring the PET bottle recycling sector and substituting imports with local production. Mr. Jaafar Harti, CEO of the Dolidol Group and CEO of AFRICORP Consortium, emphasized: "We aim to produce no less than 12,000 tons of finished products per year, achieved through the recycling of over 600 million PET bottles annually. This makes us proud on multiple fronts: environmentally, with the impact of this activity on the environmental aspect; economically and socially, as Dolicen contributes to job creation in the PET waste collection ecosystem and reduces imports while generating foreign exchange. Our goals are clear: to cover 100% of the internal needs of the Dolidol group instead of imported polyester, representing 25% of DOLICEN's total production, with the rest being sold on the national and international markets."
