On the occasion of celebrating its 40 years of existence, Dolidol, a company of the Palmeraie Holding group and a leading Moroccan operator in the furniture and bedding sector, established the world record for the largest mattress ever made. The mattress measures 20 meters in length by 16 meters in width and 1.4 meters in height, weighing 11 tons. The world record was achieved at Dolidol's factory in Dar Bouazza in the presence of partners and group collaborators.
"We are proud to be able to crown the celebrations of our 40th anniversary with such a remarkable event, which will remain in everyone's minds," said Mr. Saâd Berrada Sounni, Co-President of Palmeraie Holding and President of Dolidol. "This record, both in terms of the dimensions of the mattress and the involvement of the collaborators who made it possible, perfectly symbolizes the values of innovation, performance, and know-how that have guided Dolidol's development over all these years."
This giant mattress, capable of accommodating over 200 people lying down, required 1600 hours of work. It was conceived in Dolidol's R&D center before moving on to the production stage. 8 tons of foam, 45 km of steel wire for the springs, 320 m2 of felt plates, 1500 m2 of fabric, and 160 meters of ribbon, along with 1 ton of polyester, were used for its realization. All components of the mattress will be recycled in Dolidol's quality, safety, and environmental approach. The record was certified by the World Record Academy, a globally recognized organization for certifying records.
